The Subiaco Football Club was known as the Maroons until June 1973 when they changed their name to the Lions.

An alternate gold jumper with a maroon lion was also used. In 1980 the jumper was changed to maroon and gold vertical stripes with a maroon back. In 1997 a blue section was addes to club's maroon jumper with a Lions head across the front. In 2000 the jumper was again changed to show a new SFC logo on the front with maroon and gold vertical stripes, and a maroon back. A special Centenary jumper was also worn in the 2000 season. The latest jumper introduced was an alternate strip to the current design, specially designed for night football matches and jumper clashes with other clubs.
